Milestone Weekend
Juliette is so smart, cut and funny! I'm sorry I post so many thing about her but it is just an exciting stage and this is a good place for me to "journal" events. She is so precious and growing fast. We love and adore her!
Friday, March 2 (Juliette is 4 months, 3 weeks old)
Friday, March 2 (Juliette is 4 months, 3 weeks old)
- She rolled over! She could roll from her tummy to back since Feb 10 (day before 4 months old) and now she can not only roll from her back to her tummy but she just loves to roll over and over in a row across the room. She likes moving around. I have a video but I cant get it to upload (and to be honest its probably more exciting for me than for anyone else lol)
- She loves playtime with her toys, dolly, entertainer/bouncer, books, musical toys, and music or videos on the ipad.
- She drank from a sippy cup! and was loving it.
- She loves the mirror! and laughing. I think she is starting to recognize that baby girl in the mirror. Although I feel a little badly when she gets too excited and head butts the mirror---maybe she's a little too close. haha
- This morning I saw her suck her thumb for ht first time (instead of a few fingers or whole fist)

Mrs. Wiggles
At church on Sunday our Relief Society lesson was on the talk "Children" from Neil L. Andersen. I honestly believe that being a mother is my calling. I feel like motherhood gives you so much purpose. It gives you an opportunity to show selflessness, compassion, love and patience. I absolutely love being a mother. I know that having children is an important part of this life. I am thankful for my parents and Matt's parents. I know that it is important to teach our children. I'm thankful for families and I know that through our Savior Jesus Christ we can have eternal families. I know that with God on your side, all things are possible. I'm so thankful for that!
Juliette is at such a fun stage. She is starting to entertain herself with toys and sucking on things. She is such a wiggler. She loves to arch her back and roll over. She doesn't like tummy time very much, so she quickly learned that if she rolls over she is on her back and likes that better.
It was VeRy sad...last Wednesday Juliette go her first fever and sickness.
I was super busy at work that day with 2 events and helping my boss with some stuff so Matt stayed home with her Wednesday and I stayed home with her Thursday. We didnt take her to the doctor cuz her fever was ranging from 100.3 to 101 and then went down after some baby tylenol and stuff. She was a ScReaMer! We were glad she was feeling better by Friday and both ready to get back to work.

She still has a stuffy nose and a little cold, Matt and I both got the cold too :( But now I think we are finally all feeling better. We love to see her smile and laugh.
OH something else that is new- she is starting to recognize when I leave the room and she cries---do we have a momma's girl on our hands? I think so. But you can never be mad at this girl. She's too cute!
FRIENDS
she loves dogs
and we love her!
DIY dresses and wedding stuff
My little sister Sabrina is getting married in a week! and I'm so excited for her. We had a couple showers for her the past few weeks. I didnt take any pictures of us but I did make her this "cake" out of towels and washcloths. http://www.thinkwedding.com/Art-Wedding_Towel_Cake.htm
We went over to my grandma's house afterwards. We get to keep some of her jewelry and clothes since she passed away. She was always fashionable and I feel lucky to keep some of these things for me to remember her. She always had lots of crazy big glasses! LOL
We are also making dresses for the nieces (our daughters) for Tim and Sab's wedding. There will be 6 cute girly girls. This is how they turned out-
I should have taken pictures as we went along but here is a try at a tutorial for these dresses-
Supplies for dress:
Sew two strips of tulle with a wide zig zag stitch along one edge. Do not back stitch this part! Tie one end off and pull one of thead and gather the tulle to your liking. We ended up putting one gathered tulle in the front and a second in the back to make it look more full. Do a little trimming if the pieces are too long or uneven.
For the rosettes on the skirt we cut 1" strips that we about 9" long. Tie a not in one end and then roll them up sometimes turning the material as twisting around. We didnt glue or sew anything and just lay it on the skirt and sew the rosette right onto the skirt. My sister glued the rosettes with the hot glue gun and then glued them onto the skirt.
For the big rosette on the shirt and headband you need to cut 1-1.5" strip that is about 2 feet long. Sew zig zag stitch along edge and then pull (gather). Then cut a piece of felt the size you'd like the rosette and hot glue (starting with the outside) and then go around the felt gluing along the way until you get the rosette on the until the center. Glue the metal pin on the back and pin it to your shirt.
We kind of used this as inspiration for hte rosettes http://www.happytogethercreates.com/2011/03/ruffled-rosette-belt-and-top-tutorial.html.

Dating your Spouse
Matt and I try to go on a weekly date night. Even with a baby we have been doing pretty good! I love our dates. Sometimes we get a babysitter (one of our parents usually) and go to dinner, a movie or activity and sometimes we have a date night-in and rent a redbox and order pizza after we put Juliette to bed. I love this dating diva blog- http://www.thedatingdivas.com/date-night/all-dates/.
I think it is SO important to date your spouse and create fun memories and laugh together. Sometimes we get too caught up in the business of work, school, cleaning, cooking, etc and we just need to break out of those routine things and do something fun together.
Matt got a new gun last year and I didnt want to go shooting while I was pregnant so we finally went to Doug Shoot'n Sports and had a fun night!
