Why my work is great

10. Last week, on April 21, it was one of the most celebrated day in the workplace other than holidays and birthdays. Luckily for me it was Administrative Professional Day to honor the administrative professionals. I didnt even know this was a real day but since 1952 it has been celebrated. So I got a coupon for 2 hours of pay without work and a $10 gift certificate to Toasters- one of my favorite lunch sandwhich shops. It was great! And I felt appreciated. Thanks you guys!

9. On windy days the windmills turn and make music in the tower of the Salt Palace. It is awesome!

8.Salt Palace is a huge building and I get lots of exercise every day! and we get to ride scooters!

7. Now that the weather is getting nice we get the beautiful waterfalls turned on that are outside of Abravanel Hall. I love that it is so close to Trax.6. I can feel like I'm in High School again with drama, laughs, tears, rules, gossip and getting things accomplished here at work. Hahaha. Just kidding (kinda...)

5. I love the people I work with. I get to work with Alicia everyday. I have made some great friends. Nikki has the cutest little baby girl and brought her into work the other day- Thanks for the visit!

4. I have 2 wonderful bosses that show appreciation.

3. I meet lots of great people and learn A TON.

2. I love pay day, benefits, insurance, and paid days off and sick days. I am a grown up now. About to get married and be the breadwinner until Matt is done with school (although I think he makes more than i do and hasnt gone to school- cuz he's so smart- and skilled...LUCKY!)

1. I feel like getting my degree was worth it cuz I'm blessed with this job! I go down to Cedar City this weekend to walk for Graduation! Wahoo!

Matt's Birthday

Matt's birthday is April 7! He loves Little Debbies so I made him a sign and...
A Little Debbie deluxe birthday cake. Sabrina and David helped me make the best cake ever!
It is 3 layers of chocolate cake with carmel bars, nutty bars, star crunch cookies, fudge round cookies, swiss rolls and to top it off and hold the candles, his favorite- fancy cakes. It was fun to make, made me think of Matt, he loved it and tasted very yummy!
He was spoiled through out the whole week with birthday breakfast at iHop, dinner at Tucanos & Macaroni Grill and lunch Braza Grill. I Love Brazilian food almost as much as Matt.

HE LOVED HIS PRESENTS!! His parents and I gave him a processor for his computer- he acted like a little kid at Christmas so I had to let him open it early.
He's so cute!! and excited. I love him. He had a great 22nd B-day!

Nikki and Gentry's Wedding Reception

Me with the beautiful bride- Nikki
Caitlyn and I had a fun drive down to Orem for Nikki's wedding reception.
Jessica, me, Caitlyn, Christina, Sharli
It was soo good to see old friends from high school.

Minute to Win It

Have you ever seen the new TV game show- Minute to Win it? I LOVE IT!! It is seriously the best. Every Sunday night after dinner we watch it and want to try the games. So on Sunday between conference sessions we had our own Romero Minute to Win It Tournament.

The first game was Speed Eraser:
Contestant must bounce eight pencils into eight glasses in a line on a table. The contestant holds pencils in one hand and uses the other hand to bounce the pencil into the glass.
Sticky Balls
A strip of double-sided tape is placed at the end of an eight-foot table. From the opposite end of the table, the contestant must roll five marbles so that they stop on the tape without rolling off the table. My favorite game was Nose Dive:
Contestant must transfer five cotton balls, one at a time, from one serving bowl to another 12' away using only the nose. Vaseline on the tip of the contestant's nose is used as a transfer agent.

Elephant March
Eight unopened water bottles are placed in two parallel rows on the ground, precisely eight feet apart. The contestant must wear a standard pair of pantyhose over the head, with a baseball placed inside the end of one leg. Keeping one foot on each side of the centerline, the contestant must swing back and forth using the momentum of the baseball to knock down all eight bottles.

What a Racquet
Contestant must use a tennis racquet positioned between the legs to move a gumball on the webbing from one spot to another without using their hands.

Taylor was the Minute to Win It CHAMPION! We all voted and decided he should really try out for the show.
If you havent ever seen it you should start watching it either online or on Sunday nights on NBC at 7 PM. You will not only love it but you will want to try the easy at home games. Try to beat every game in 60 seconds or less!

Did you say OCTOPUS?

Yes. Matt and I went to a Sushi Japanese Restaurant- Kobe Sushi on 40th South Wasatch Blvd. Matt is so good at helping us try new things and enjoying them! We ordered a Small Sashimi which means 15 pieces of the chefs choice. We didnt know what to expect but lets just say that we were a little surprised when the waiter brought out a plate with raw salmon, tuna, white fish and OCTOPUS! We ate it all. Put a little wasabi and soy sauce and they all tasted pretty good. I loved this cute little lime. Matt thought it was funny that I ate it cuz I think it was for decoation so he took a picture. We had potstickers, soup and California rolls for appetizers. We also tried Yakisoba- this stir fry noodles with shrimp.
Such a new taste. What a fun night!

GO JAZZ

My family all went to the Jazz game the other night when they played the Knicks. It was a blast and we won! So we got free Big Macs after the game.
Marcus was SOO excited he went all out. Marcus, Matt, Shar

We love the Jazz!

The Proposal

I am the luckiest girl alive! Some of you have already heard this story but those of you who have not- you're in for a treat (I know its long but I just couldnt leave anything else out.)

It was a surprise proposal on Friday, October 9, 2009. Not a surprise that we wanted to marry each other but he lived in Orem (I lived in Cedar City 3 hours south) and told me he couldn’t get work off and had lots of homework so he couldn’t come to cedar city this weekend. I was a little bummed...but little did I know, not only was he coming to cedar but he had a LOT planned and I was the only one who didn’t know about it.

I have to preface my story though: Matt and I dated our Junior and Senior year in high school. To avoid getting too serious we decided to only go to Sadies and Prom together and go to the other dances with other people. But when prom came he asked someone else...I was sad and he ended up not going at all and I went with someone else because I was sad he didnt ask me.

Then one Friday in October of 2009 I was sitting in my bedroom eating Wingers and watching Wedding Planner by myself when my roommate Kady came in to make sure I was ok my first weekend without Matt since he's been home from his mission. Then this guy Nick called and said he's coming to "kid-nap" us to raise money fro breast cancer (If we raise enough money they let us free) I was NOT in the mood but finally they got me to put a dress on and get in the car. We were blindfolded and led all over and I had no idea what was going on except for I hoped this fundraiser was short! (Also a note to know: I always make wishes at 11:11 and kiss the clock- it works try it!)

So at 11:11 PM Nick and Kady both let go of me and I was blindfolded and confused. Then I heard a whisper in my ear, "Shar it's 11:11 make a wish!!" from Matts voice! I was like "shut up!" and ripped off the blind fold. I couldnt believe that he was there, and then I couldnt believe what I saw! Look how surprised I look in the picture.
He and my Alpha Phi sisters and friends had the church gym decorated all like prom with blue and gold balloons, stars, confetti, christmas lights, signs and music playing! Matt got down on his knee and said, "I made a mistake in High school when I didnt ask you to prom and I'll probably make a lot more mistakes in our life but you are the only person I want to spend eternity making it up to. Sharlene Witt will you marry me?" I teared up a little because it was so beautiful! I OF COURSE said "YES!!" and jumped into his arms and hugged and kissed him.

He placed the most beautiful ring on my finger and I know he loves me so much. I love him and he is so cute and thoughtful. We are SO HAPPY and excited! I have the best roommates, sisters and friends!! We danced to our song and it was the best night ever!! I LOVE you Matt!
